The Founder

Since 2006, Katie’s travels to twenty-eight countries and six continents have inspired her to help create positive change by being of service to those living in poverty and struggling in the developing world. For her hard and inspiring work, she was awarded as a Millennial Week’s Changemaker of the Year. Her humanitarian work has been featured on the Chicago ABC Morning Show, NBC’s Colorado & Company, FOX31, Women of Denver, Impact Founder, and in various media outlets. Katie is an inspirational keynote speaker, workshop facilitator, and aspiring author on the side. She holds a Master’s in Education (M.Ed) with teaching credentials, and a Bachelor’s in (B.A.) n Mass Communications with a concentration in TV Production and Public Relations. Katie donated her salary to the charity for the first seven years in operation, and  she is currently donating her salary once again for the duration of the COVID pandemic.

Dr. Kate Newburgh, Ph.D.
Curriculum Development

Dr. Newburgh began her career as a middle school teacher in the South Bronx. Since then, her roles have included: Academic Affairs Director for a College Track, Strategy Lead of Transformative Learning for Eagle County Schools, Senior Strategy Consultant for Teibel Consulting, and VP of Talent, Research, and Leadership for OTR, a progressive private equity firm in New York City.

Susannah Campora, B.S.
Program Co-Creator
Susannah is a Certified Life Coach and designated leader and coach for Landmark Worldwide, in addition to having experience running summer camps for teens. Susannah’s specialties as a creator and leader include social-emotional wellness, authentic leadership, facilitation, communication, healing, and empowerment through group work, events and workshops, outreach, promotion, partnerships, community building, and advising enterprises of any industry on finding their “secret sauce”.
Dr. Andrew A. Fox, Ph.D. Philosophy & MPH
Evaluation & Impact

Dr. Fox majored in educational leadership and policy and has a master of public health, with a business management degree. He has worked with AmeriCorps and WASH in Africa and has experience in process and impact evaluation using mixed methods research.

Christa Mariah Pusateri
Program Facilitator

Christa Mariah’s purpose is to catalyze connection and coelevation as we pioneer the virtual frontier of the Age of Abundance. Her dream is to co-create Treedom, a global network of nature-based retreat properties where leaders can connect with nature, each other, and their visions for the chapter ahead. Christa holds a Masters Degree from the University of Florida, a B.A. from the University of Central Florida, and has taught Entrepreneurship & Creativity and Business Communications as a College Adjunct Instructor. She is certified in Reiki Level 2 energy healing and Dreamporting inner alchemy, timeline, and constellation boards. Program Facilitator

Ademola Michael Okubena is a student of life itself. Began early studies and education in Nigeria, West Africa the most populated country in the whole of the continent. He learned entrepreneurship from a family business spanning over 20yrs and very early on was introduced to metaphysics and quantum physics. Later education took him to England where he studied and received a BA Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from one of the top Universities in London. He helped start up and co-create and pioneer through science, an African and Indigenous Natural Ingredient business that operates all over the world and runs till the present moment. Currently teaching metaphysics, spirituality, and curriculums that facilitate health and wellness, in order to integrate Mind, Body, and Soul for the purpose of promoting and maintaining mental health.

Faith Lee, B.A.
Coach

Faith has experience in developing leaders through coaching and is currently the Connection Team Leader at Brave Life Venture empowering young adults. She is a graduate of Landmark Worldwide’s Curriculum for Living, programs that report a 94% positive and permanent shift in the quality of life of graduates.

She received an English degree from DePauw University and worked as a Communication Manager for the Human Universal Health Institute, a holistic wellness clinic and dental office. Faith is with Compass Rose because she believes in the power of mentorship in her own life and is now giving back by helping others see their own magic, strength, worth, and capabilities. She enjoys human connection, building relationships, writing poetry, workshop facilitation, social and racial justice, yoga, and nature.

Annette Visbeck, M.S.
Coach

Annette has experience as a facilitator and program designer for youth groups, camps, workshops, and training that focus on empowerment for youth and young adults.

She has worked in social work, education, and health care fields having received her Bachelor’s and Master’s in Clinical and Educational Psychology, and certificated in Mindfulness and Family Therapy. Originally from Germany, Annette loves exploring new things, learning, cultures, languages, and equality, and is working with Compass Rose International because she believes in unconditional love, deep connection, and the flourishing of people.

Andrea Cummings, B.A.P.S.Y.

Andrea has experience as a leadership mentor and coach for students from an array of backgrounds, developed herself in diversity and inclusion, and is currently on a team founding an organization that empowers young adults.

She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Psychology & Communications from Regis University, Associates of Psychology (B.A.P.S.Y.), and recently graduated with a certificate in Organizational Leadership with an emphasis in Human Capital Development from the University of Denver. She has joined Compass Rose International because she truly believes in and is inspired by the journey of people discovering their worth, power, and radiance. From Venezuela, she has been in the United States for 7 years and she enjoys spending time with her husband, cooking, dancing, animals, reading, connecting with people, facilitating meaningful conversations, and music.

Dominick is the Founding Managing Principal and Chief Investment Officer of IPS Strategic Capital in Denver. He received his Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®) through the Wharton School of Business and completed the College for Financial Planning’s CFP certification program. In his spare time, he’s an Adjunct Professor at the Denver University where he frequently lectures on the real-world use of derivatives in risk-defined money management. Dominick served as Board Member for The Denver Voice for 5 years. His life’s work to deliver a risk management solution will help Global Orphan Prevention’s success in financial and strategic planning.

Tanya Pomirchy
Board Secretary

Tanya is the Senior Property Manager for City Street Investors, LLC in Denver, a commercial real estate investment and management firm. Some of her properties and clients include Denver Union Station, Hangar 2 at Lowry, The Historic Evans School, and various others. She has been accredited with her LEED Green Associate™ credential as well as holds her Colorado Real Estate Broker License. Tanya was previously a member of the Global Orphan Prevention’s Associate board for two years as the Vice-Chairperson. Over the last year her role has shifted into an Executive Board Member, advising on governance and strategic development. ​

Brian Johnson
Board Treasurer Finance Chairperson

Now retired from corporate life, Brian brings over 37 years of CEO, COO and CFO experience across multiple industries, with an extensive background in guiding companies through challenging periods of growth and change. He was instrumental in the $150 million sale of Alert Centre to ADT Security, the $6.5 billion sale of ADT to Tyco International, and the $75 million sale of Coherent Technologies to Lockheed Martin. Brian offers wide-ranging experience in corporate governance, having served on the boards of nine privately and publicly-traded corporations and several non-profit organizations, including RAFT Colorado (Resource Area for Teachers), Forward Steps and Boulder County Hospice. An “inactive” attorney and CPA, Brian is driven by a passionate belief in a “full spectrum” leadership model that promotes shaping the future, building effective relationships, energizing teams, delivering results, and modeling personal excellence, integrity and accountability. He recently joined our board with a passionate belief in its mission and strong confidence in its leadership.

Manisha Shrestha
Board Member Fundraising Chairperson

Manisha Shrestha was born in Nepal and raised in Colorado. She came to the States with her family at the age of 3. Her parents taught her the value of working hard and giving back. She is a Solution Manager, supporting USDA in various technical (IT) projects. She has over 18 years of experience working with international organizations and creating sustainable projects in improvised communities. As a Returned U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer from the Philippines, she has extensive experience in fundraising and building key strategic partnerships to drive change. She is passionate about working and providing her healthcare, education, and sustainability expertise.

Dr. Jenna Glover, PH.D
Board Member Program Chairperson

Jenna Glover is a Licensed Psychologist and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Dr. Glover serves as Director of Psychology Training at Children’s Hospital Colorado. Dr. Glover received her doctorate in Combined Clinical, Counseling, and School psychology from Utah State University. Her professional activities including research, teaching, and clinical work. The focus of her career is helping youth and families develop new perspectives and learn skills that will improve their mental and physical wellness and help them live a life that is meaningful and consistent with their values. She has been honored with awards for teaching excellence, service to students, and wellness, and has delivered the TEDx talk, “Do you live an energy efficient life?

Richard M Batenburg III
Board Member Program Chairperson

Richard M Batenburg III (Rick) is the co-founder of Cliintel Capital Management Group (CCMG), a venture firm focused on emerging markets in tech and consumer products, and more specifically cannabis. CCMG became the first Qualified Institutional Investment capital firm In Colorado. After three years of playing JR hockey in Canada, Rick graduated, second in his class, at Nichols College where he received a degree in Finance and Business. Rick began his professional career as a wealth management advisor at Merrill Lynch where he managed over $100MM in assets, specializing in IPO and secondary issue buys, with an additional focus on private equity deals.

Rick is extremely excited to be a part of this talented board that is dedicated to improving the lives of humanity across the world. Combining the collective knowledge from the board and the result-driven strategy from Katie Hilborn the resulting infrastructure will foster real change worldwide. “I am so excited to bring whatever value I can to such a passionate women (Katie Hilborn) who has shepherded this organization from just an idea to a tangible infrastructure already helping people across the world,” says Rick.
