What is your earliest memory of giving?

Earliest memory of giving is teaching the neighborhood younger kids in a playschool. I was the teacher and they were students. I put a lot of effort at the age of 5 teaching them to read and count.

What do people often thank you for?

My calmness in stressful situations.

What do you feel have been the important successes in your life? The frustrations?

Taking pride in building my business while taking care of my family.

How did you first hear about Compass Rose International (formally Global Orphan Prevention) and why do you care about the mission?

Katie Hilborn contacted me to assist in planning the event and coordinating day of. I care about the mission because we need to protect our young women in this world and give them the resources to be strong and grow into a thriving adult.

If you were talking to someone else about giving to Compass Rose International, what would you tell them?

I’d emphasize the incredible impact of their mission. Here’s what I might say: “Compass Rose International is a phenomenal organization dedicated to uplifting young women who are vulnerable to child trafficking and mental health challenges. By donating, you are directly contributing to providing these young women with essential tools for resilience, confidence, safety, and independence. The organization focuses on empowering them to overcome their circumstances and build brighter futures. Your support can help transform lives, making a real difference in the fight against child trafficking and supporting mental health. It’s an opportunity to be part of a meaningful cause that champions the well-being and empowerment of some of the most vulnerable individuals in our society.”

If Compass Rose International were to be on the cover of your favorite magazine in five years, what would the story be about?

Success stories of young women in the program and where they are now.

What would be your advice to younger generations about learning causes, getting involved, and doing something about it?

Getting out there and meeting people and learning about what is going on in the world and trying out organizations to find where you can best help.
